How has music evolved over the years? – W11 T1

Hello, I’ll be talking about how music has evolved over the years and the impact on society.

Music form definition if simply how various parts of a song or piece are organized into pieces like Chorus, Verse 1, Verse 2 and bridge. In classical music it can be broken down into a very similar way but a bit different. Music has no vocals unless you use your voice to sing, it’s like a piano, violin, guitar, harmonium and drums etc. It’s kind of like a poem where you rhyme words but in a very familiar way.

For here, the original form of music is Oral Singing. It is likely the earliest for of music, followed by organized sounds like clapping, stomping etc. Various musical instruments could have been developed at an early stage, for example, the bow is regarded as one of the early musical instruments.

The civil rights movement back in 1960s sparked soul music and hip-hop. Thus, musical evolution is the result of selection at multiple levels: within individuals (producers), among individuals (consumers), and among groups (social networks of consumers).

Humans used different noises to express fear or joy. These sounds, along with some of the sounds they heard from animals, such as birds’ chirping, might have led them to make music. When people began to use tools, for instance to pound grains, they may have done so in a rhythm, or a regular pattern. So music has made a very big impact on society over the years and people enjoy listening to music. I also enjoy listening to music on Spotify.

Music This Term – 2024

Kia Ora fellow musicians!

I will be telling you everything I have learned in music class this term. We have an amazing dark-humored funny teacher, Mr Rea! He taught us how to play Seven Nation Army, Ode to joy, Lean on Me and Can’t help falling in love with you, it was amazing how we got to hear the most beautiful harmonies and melodies. We also got to learn what E is on the guitar, I’m hoping to learn how to play the electric guitar. The things I have seen and learned was beautiful, our teacher helped us go through the music we have never learned before, he is also the best teacher, my #1 teacher. I love music class so much I would take it as a year 9 when I get to pick. Today we learned how to play drums on a bucket, it’s kind of interesting that buckets sounds similar to real drums.

Things we’ve done

The things my class and I have done this past term in music class was drawing a musician and giving 5 facts about them, we’ve also done quests in class craft which was fun but hard at the same time because I thought we were doing it on our Chromebooks not on the piano and guitar. we’ve also played Blooket and Kahoot, I love music class, our teacher is so funny, so kind and interesting for a fact that he made fun of his dead grandma… But it’s okay because I love his humor so much!

Favorite song/s

My favorite songs are M. by Anıl Emre Daldal and Good Looking Boy by Suki Waterhouse. These 2 songs are glued to my head, I really love it so much of the nostalgic feeling I have everytime I listen to these two songs. Thanks to Mr Rea for letting us listen to music while doing our work! (It’s music class of course)

That’s the end of everything I have enjoyed and listened to so far, huge thanks to Mr Rea for being awesome and kind also funny, thanks for letting us listen to any music we want, thanks for being the best and amazing music teacher I have seen! I hope no one replaces you til the end!
